I love the app though I would REALLY prefer that it synced via Mobile Me so that things are always up to date no matter where you are or if you are near your laptop etc. Its a step backwards the way that it syncs at the moment ... Also the foriegn currency accounts do not transfer properly ... They all come over as 1.00 as the rate. If you dont pick up on it and change the transactions, you accounts are off... Fix these two things and this app is a 5 star .... Not yet though :)

Works for me, a no frills addition to the excellent desktop app. Additions will come in time but for now this does what I need it to do. Good job.

Very handy app. It would be nice if it had a manual "sync now" button. I have had some instances where it doesnt want to sync even when both apps are running on same local network

This is a very good app. Slightly tricky to get working which is why it did not get 5 stars. Good work!

I agree with ZZ_fan_33 This app really needs a forced sync button. Also, it would be nice if you didnt have to start the extension in the program first to get it to sync. My top request is to be able to hide accounts I dont want to see on the app. Not to delete them, just hide them from view would be great. Other than that, I love this app and program. I really needed something to replace Quicken. I was tired of using Parallels to get Quicken to work.

If you want to use Moneydance on the go, this is such a necessary app. I wish though, that they would put a bit more efforts into updating it.

Used the app for a while now on iMac and like it a lot. Used to be able to sync with app on iPhone no problem but cant anymore and desktop version doesnt even see the iPhone. Now having same problem with iPad. AND pretty well no response from developers although it appears there are many other users with similar problems. Fix promised 6 months ago now but nothing to date. Am contemplating switching software because of this.

I use Moneydance on my Mac and iPad. sadly, it is one of the better personal financial packages out there. the cons: 1) the look and feel is insanely dated 2) to sync with you ipad you have to type in a 48 character code...its my personal finances not Fort Knox for crying out loud!!! 3) can attach receipts to an entry. the pros 1) Home Page on Mac version is very useful. Quicken Essentials has a cleaner look but they have more issues...particularly commitment issues to the Mac... 2) you can actually see your cleared balances without having to take out a calculator and calculate it manually. seems like a no brainer but most financial apps for some reason dont provide this 3) you can exclude an account or specific categories from your budget. I find this a big plus as I dont want to include my business expenses in my reports as they are reimbursed and really have nothing to do with how I am managing my personal finances.

After a long wait, its finally here!!! The DropBox syncing works perfectly and is almost instant on all open devices. Great job MoneyDance!!!

The wifi syncing has always been unreliable for me, finally the dropbox sync delivers the consistency and reliability Ive been looking for… Thanks MoneyDancers! Transaction entry on the iPad has been improved as well. A welcome upgrade for sure!

Id give the desktop SW four stars but the app only 3 (and this is generous) While app works okay most of time and does good job for basic entrirs, I find creating split items with both Debits and credits nearly impossible on the first try as it seemingly picks the type randomly. Another HUGE miss IMO, is total lack of photo taking and attaching to transactions. Being able to take a picture of a bill/receipt you just entered would be invaluable.

The app is great allowing you to add purchases immediately to the Moneydance. Ive been using it for well over a year. Im surprised that the bugs have never been addressed. For example, when adding a transaction thats a deposit, it will often go through as a charge. Whenever I make a credit card payment it will go through as a charge. Sometimes it loses my transaction all together. If I go back in and change the charge to a deposit it will usually stay as a deposit. I like logging on using my Mac computer and having entries I processed through this app available. I use encryption through Dropbox to store the data. This is how the app is able to access records that were entered on the computer or iPad or iPhone. I hope someday the bugs will be fixed. I will give this product a 5 star when that happens.

Excellent app for my personal finances

I love this app for the way it works so well with the desktop app OSX. Easy synch using DropBox, I can enter cheques or other expenses while on the road and they synch up when I run the app back at home. Categories and payees synch as well.

Works great with my iphone and my linux machine... Thanks

Needs to show budget details to see how much room in budget categories/subcategories is available to spend (including totals for income/expenses). For the current month. Most other finance apps offer this. Also need to be able attach photos of receipts to transactions.

Without WiFi syncing, you might just as well send your financial information to criminals and the NSA (if they arent the same thing). Sync in the cloud only guarantees that your informaiton will be stolen and you will quickly become a target for identity theft.

One small improvement would be to automatically open the number/symbol keyboard when the "check number" field is opened to save most people a key press each time check details are entered.

Quick transaction entry. Setting up to sync is so easy, and daily sync is done automatically. Quite comfortable for me. Editing existing transaction is not so cool, but it works well. FYI desktop version of Moneydance supports plugins and API, so you can manage transactions by yourself. 25 Jun 2014 - 2.0 is finally out. UI is not so different from the older one, but it is more responsive. No action is required for migration. I like it. 2 Jul 2014 - Oops, there is a bug relating date in New Teansaction screen. Transaction date shown above the date selector is sometimes different from the selectors value by exactly 1 day. However the generated transaction holds the selectors value correctly. I suspect this bug has any relation with time zone, because The Infinite Kind, MD developer, seems to be a UK company which has no gap between local time and UTC. Hope quick fix. 26 Oct 2014 - The date-related bug shown above has been fixed days ago. Now this app is essential for me. 11 Mar 2015 - The date bug has come back. I have difficulties to use this app before 09:00 a.m. everyday in Japan. Again, hope quick fix. このアプリはあくまでもデスクトップ版 Moneydance のコンパニオンアプリなので、最初に同期設定しないと使えません。わけわかめな人はデスクトップ版も使いましょう。
