Moneydance app for iPhone and iPad

Works for me, a no frills addition to the excellent desktop app. Additions will come in time but for now this does what I need it to do. Good job.

Very handy app. It would be nice if it had a manual "sync now" button. I have had some instances where it doesnt want to sync even when both apps are running on same local network

This is a very good app. Slightly tricky to get working which is why it did not get 5 stars. Good work!

I agree with ZZ_fan_33 This app really needs a forced sync button. Also, it would be nice if you didnt have to start the extension in the program first to get it to sync. My top request is to be able to hide accounts I dont want to see on the app. Not to delete them, just hide them from view would be great. Other than that, I love this app and program. I really needed something to replace Quicken. I was tired of using Parallels to get Quicken to work.

After a long wait, its finally here!!! The DropBox syncing works perfectly and is almost instant on all open devices. Great job Moneydance!!!

The wifi syncing has always been unreliable for me, finally the dropbox sync delivers the consistency and reliability Ive been looking for… Thanks Moneydancers! Transaction entry on the iPad has been improved as well. A welcome upgrade for sure!

Used the app for a while now on iMac and like it a lot. Used to be able to sync with app on iPhone no problem but cant anymore and desktop version doesnt even see the iPhone. Now having same problem with iPad. AND pretty well no response from developers although it appears there are many other users with similar problems. Fix promised 6 months ago now but nothing to date. Am contemplating switching software because of this.

I use Moneydance on my Mac and iPad. sadly, it is one of the better personal financial packages out there. the cons: 1) the look and feel is insanely dated 2) to sync with you ipad you have to type in a 48 character code...its my personal finances not Fort Knox for crying out loud!!! 3) can attach receipts to an entry. the pros 1) Home Page on Mac version is very useful. Quicken Essentials has a cleaner look but they have more issues...particularly commitment issues to the Mac... 2) you can actually see your cleared balances without having to take out a calculator and calculate it manually. seems like a no brainer but most financial apps for some reason dont provide this 3) you can exclude an account or specific categories from your budget. I find this a big plus as I dont want to include my business expenses in my reports as they are reimbursed and really have nothing to do with how I am managing my personal finances.

Without WiFi syncing, you might just as well send your financial information to criminals and the NSA (if they arent the same thing). Sync in the cloud only guarantees that your informaiton will be stolen and you will quickly become a target for identity theft.

I would like to start with praising the Moneydance program on the OSX platform. It is the best money tracking program on the Mac I have found.

If the desktop version and this one worked together properly the iOS app could be okay, even though it lacks many essentials like reconciling, a calculator and a useable calendar - but it doesnt! This app and the desktop just cannot sync properly! For whatever reason the app ONLY uses Dropbox with some form of convoluted hidden file routine. WHY Not iCloud??? The Dropbox sync just DOES NOT WORK! You will lose transactions, deposits may be posted as withdrawals, etc. It just is not a dependable combination! If you love being totally frustrated you will love this app.

I have deleted this app from all my mobile devices because Moneydance 2014 was no longer stable on my Mac, and I was forced to upgrade to the 2017 version. I do not subscribe to Dropbox, and that is the only option offered for syncing with mobile devices. Im sorry that people were having problems with WiFi syncing. I never did, and now I have no options.
