For a long time I was looking for a piece of software to replace Acemoney (pc version is good but after changing to mac it’s not working). I tested a lot of software and Moneydancer finally have made me really happy. Great software of users who need more that just add some bills!

I have been using this program for many years. Yes the update last year required upgrading and using Dropbox to sync. I believe I emailed and called the company to understand why the change and to help me. They walked me through it, helping me with the update. Never had a problem!! The syncing works fine!! It is easy to use App. Allows me to keep track of everything, on the run. No more writing out in my checkbook, then transfer to a computer manually. Just enter my deposits and transactions. Then at the end of the year easily do my taxes!! To all the others who are complaining: Just Update, use Dropbox and everything is fine!!!

I would like to start with praising the Moneydance program on the OSX platform. It is the best money tracking program on the Mac I have found.

Absolutely love this app as the ease of use in recording transactions on the go is outstanding and it accurately reflects my balances to keep me on budget.

Wondering when theyre going to update this?!?!

I have used the desktop app for Mac for years, but never got around to adding the mobile app to my phone. Finally did it, and I am so glad I did! Its great to be able to check my balances and update in real time when Im out running errands. It helps me stay on budget, and lets me know when I can splurge without creating problems.

If the desktop version and this one worked together properly the iOS app could be okay, even though it lacks many essentials like reconciling, a calculator and a useable calendar - but it doesnt! This app and the desktop just cannot sync properly! For whatever reason the app ONLY uses Dropbox with some form of convoluted hidden file routine. WHY Not iCloud??? The Dropbox sync just DOES NOT WORK! You will lose transactions, deposits may be posted as withdrawals, etc. It just is not a dependable combination! If you love being totally frustrated you will love this app.

I LOVE Moneydance on mac. I hope more stats (graphs, etc) available on OS X can be added, read only, to the iOS version. An Apple Watch app alerting changes would be an added bonus. Keep up the good work and I look forward to future updates in the near future..

I have deleted this app from all my mobile devices because Moneydance 2014 was no longer stable on my Mac, and I was forced to upgrade to the 2017 version. I do not subscribe to Dropbox, and that is the only option offered for syncing with mobile devices. Im sorry that people were having problems with WiFi syncing. I never did, and now I have no options.

Numerous accounts, different currencies, synced perfectly across 3 devices. Works as it should. Would like to see more features in ios version, but otherwise, this is by far the best personal finance app (for multiple currencies) on the mac.

Moneydance works great for my needs. I use the desktop app to budget and actually pay/schedule bills. Its perfect for future planning. The app iPhone is a great companion and stays in sync. When MS money died out, I was making the move to Mac, and Moneydance really saved me and allowed me to continue with my workflow without a hitch. I used the Mac app and iPhone app daily.

I got MD few month ago and from the get go this app was what I had been looking for for a long long time. Syncs to Mac works very well, easy to use from iPhone. Simply, it is a great app. I love it!

We find the program useful for entering transactions on the go but when we try to sync. Sometimes its instant and sometimes we have to wait an extended period of time, up to 30 minutes, with no rhyme or reason to it. We suggest adding a "Sync now" button.

This app does exactly what I need it to do. Nothing more, nothing less. Easy to set up and a breeze to use. I highly recommend this app for any users of Moneydance.

With the latest change to built in sync with Dropbox, this is far and away better than Quicken for Mac, which I have finally given up on.

Having used quicken since 1969 and now a Mac person, I have switched to Moneydance. Price is right, its got an elegant interface, is user friendly, and offers a free and intelligent user manual. Go for it, you wont be sorry.

1. Cannot get wifi sync to work with either my iPad or iPhone. Sync is incredibly buggy and overly complicated: cannot get it to work after repeatedly entering the correct key (with and without spaces between blocks of letters and numbers in sync "key"), ensuring both devices are on the same wireless network/subnet, updating to the latest version of the extensions/software, attempting sync with the software firewall disabled, and making sure my device name has no apostrophe in it (?! - apparently this is or was a problem for Moneydance software). 2. The Infinite Kind announced plans to discontinue wifi sync - see their support page regarding wifi sync issues. They plan to force Moneydance users to cloud sync (via Dropbox). The desktop app has some nice features, but without an iPad or iPhone app that can easily and reliably sync via wifi, this is not the solution for me (I have no interest in moving my financial information to Dropbox or any other cloud storage solution).

I love the money dance on my MacBook Pro however I have been trying to get the app on my iPhone 5s to work for about two months now and it will NEVER SYNC. Fix and I will write another review

Earlier versions of Moneydance synced flawlessly via wi-fi. Now that wi-fi sync is to be discontinued, with only dropbox syncing allowed, I have been completely unable to sync with my main iMac file. I’ve had several email exchanges with Jerome Stevens, with absolutely no resolution (he’s been very friendly, trying to resolve the issue). While the support page and user manual are helpful for initial setup, neither offers assistance/ideas for problems.

Great app until this last update. Crashes on 4s.
